2011 Guide to Safe Scouting Available
The Health and Safetly Committee of BSA National has released the latest Guide to Safe Scouting. It can be viewed on a website or downloaded and saved or printed as a pdf file. Check the "Links and Forms" page for the link.
Summer 2011 Camp Info
The NoBeBosCo 2011 leader guide is available for download on the "Links and Forms" page. Look through it for important information on merit badges and pre-requisites. We will be providing a more summarized set of information as the summer gets closer.
National is at it again!!!
BSA national has once again modified the Medical Forms required for summer camp. It is now one form used for ANY BSA event, including the high adventure bases such as Philmont. Part A/B is the medical history and release form, part C is the physical exam which must be completed EVERY YEAR, and MUST be on the BSA form. You may not attach a school physical to the BSA form. The new forms are fillable pdf's, and are available for download on the "Links and Forms" page. Download and save the pdf file, fill out the appropriate information, then SAVE THE FILE on your computer. You then only have to make changes from year to year.
Parents...Submitting Troop Event Photos
If you have pictures from troop events you would like to share and have placed on the website, just get them to Mr Lat, wither by e-mail to jlatimer@troop251.org or bring them to a troop meeting on a memory stick or CD (let me know in advance so I can bring my laptop). We love having pics of the boys to share on the site!!!
Summer Camp 2011
The youth have decided on Camp NoBeBosCo for their summer camp experience. We are scheduled to go to summer camp July 3-9, 2011. Details will follow by the first of the year.
New Advancement Requirements
As of 1/1/2010, there will be some new advancement requirements...if you are currently working on that rank, you may use either set of requirements (11th or 12th edition handbook). But, any rank started AFTER 1/1/2010 MUST use the new 12 edition handbook requirements. The changes are listed in a file on the "Links and Forms" page. The new 100th anniversary 12th edition handbook is also available. You DO NOT have to buy a new handbook if you already have one...you can use the latest requirements book for the rank advancement updates.
New Council Website!!!
The Southern NJ Council website (www.snjscouting.org) has been newly updated and revised!!! Anything you need to know about Scouting in Southern New Jersey can be found here...Council and District events, OA info, camping, training, forms of ALL kinds...it's all here!!! Eventually we will be able to register for ANY SNJC event right from the webpage...summer camp, training events, OA events and dues, district camporees and events. It's awesome!!! Check it out!!!
Troop neckerchiefs are available!!!!
Here's the proof image of the new troop neckerchief...looks great!!! $5 each...they are now available for all Scouts and leaders for $5 each. See Mr Lat at a troop meeting for yours!!!
